Set in 72 acres of beautiful mixed woodland close to Beaconsfield in Buckinghamshire, GreenAcres Woodland Burials – Chiltern offers the stunning facilities you would expect make this one of the most idyllic places for a very special goodbye.
The park was officially opened on June 15th 2009 by Angela Rippon, our buildings were dedicated the previous month at an interfaith service led by the Bishop of Buckingham, with representatives from all churches and faiths, civil celebrants and Humanists. As Custodians of this wood, we are working in partnership with The Forestry Commission at this site – our woodland management plan is designed to gradually restore this woodland to the splendour of an entirely native wood. Already there is an increase in the number of species inhabiting the woodland, with a profusion of bluebells, foxgloves and forget-me-nots during the Spring and Summer months.
Since we opened we have been selected as the final resting place for 604 Full Burials and 316 Ash Interments and, as awareness and interest in the park has grown, many people have purchased their own Full Burial or Ash Interment plot well in advance of the time of need.
We are also proud of the work we do with the community. Inviting local schools to the woodland, holding an annual BBQ for the child bereavement charity, educational evenings about our conservation and work to local groups, sponsoring and supporting local community events, and supporting local churches.
We are a living active woodland, and we are passionate about what we do.
